But Zip Genius is one of the best compression utility that is available for free which is on par with any commercial alternative like WinZip. In fact, IMHO it is better than lots of commercial ones.

It can handle ZIP, RAR, CAB, ACE, 7-zip, ARC, SQX file types. Besides it can read ISO, NRG (CD Images) which is a very good feature. You can check the supported formats here. You can also check the FAQ page.

Also, it has an option to add additional plug-ins (add-ons). There are some useful plugins already available.

By installing this one, you can have

• Cutter – That is a file splitter. You can split a large file into multiple files so that it can be fitted into a floppy, CD etc.
• Rar2Sfx – Can create self extracting rar archives
• Zip2ISO – Using this, the zip can be converted to ISO format (CD image) so that it can be directly burned to Disc.

Verdict:

If you don’t want to spend $20 – $30 and hate to install pirated softwares then this is the one for you. Also,it comes with many features that is not even available in some commercial alternatives.
